I woke up at 6:15 this morning and continued to lay in bed thinking about my morning run. I am always visually thinking about my runs, where I'm going to go, what hills will be challenging and WWLCD...What Would Linsey Corbin Do?
At 7:00 I started a load of laundry, cleaned up house a little bit and watched a tutorial on how to make French press coffee. My parents live in Hawaii and the last time my mother flew up here she brought me some yummy Kona coffee, the BEST in the world! I fueled up with a cup or two and busted out my the new issues of Inside Triathlon and Triathlon Plus for some morning run inspiration.
Triathlon Plus had an entire section dedicated to running and professional tri tips for it from Mirinda Carfrae, Mark Buckingham, and Paula Findlay. I visually pictured myself utilizing all their advice and off I went out to do sprint intervals. I started out with a 5 min warm up followed by 1 min fast sprints with 2 min steady state running x10. Then finished off with a 5 min cool down and stretching. It was tough and in some areas mind over body definitely came into effect. I'm happy with my performance but know I can improve. Reading those mags this morning definitely helped with my motivation and I was able to really focus on good tri running technique.
Along for my intervals were my amazing white polished Oakley Women Foresake sunnies, Splits59 Loren Bra, Splits59 Rona Fitted Jacket in black and Splits59 Dusty Fitted Capri. I love looking and feeling good when I workout...but I'm pretty sure it was that Kona Coffee and awesome tri article that had me performing beautifully. ;)
